We provide a National Information Service, which is free of charge and endeavours to answer all patients questions as fully as possible in a relaxed and informal manner.

Experienced surgeons

The Cambridge Private Hospital has the highest standards in this regard and uses only a selected, hand-picked number of Surgeons, of whom the Centre has knowledge and fully registered Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and/or Edinburgh, or have appropriate internationally recognised qualifications.

They have had specialist training and have a wealth of experience behind them and can show evidence of this at consultation. They are also surgeons who travel regularly to conferences in this country and abroad to keep themselves up-to-date with the latest techniques. As well as this, The Cambridge Private Hospital has chosen surgeons who not only fulfill the above criteria, but, who are themselves in personal terms reliable, responsible and caring people.

Anaesthetists

In addition to your surgeon, the anaesthetists are fully qualified, experienced and very up to date in their field. It is not the practice of this Hospital for surgeons to administer their own anaesthetics other than for simple, minor or twilight procedures.

At the Cambridge Private Hospital we work only with highly-qualified surgical and medical staff. All procedures are carried out by surgeons with Fellow status in their specialist disciplines. Indeed, it is a measure of our stature in the profession that teaching is becoming an increasingly important function for us.

Our links with several world-renowned hospitals and with senior specialists in Germany, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and America, ensure that our procedures and techniques are always the most advanced.

Similarly our technical, patient-care and support personnel are resourced to an extremely high standard. At the Cambridge Private Hospital, effective teamwork is of the essence and each link must be utterly dependable.

Post-operative care

We understand that the need or desire for surgery can also cause you concern, even anxiety. But, at the Cambridge Private Hospital, we also know the value of helping you to calm your worries by explaining procedures, answering your questions directly and keeping you informed of your progress towards a quick recovery. You will find we are good listeners too, always ready to support and advise.

All our work is carried out under the strictest clinical safety procedures. Naturally we have formal certification of approval from the Cambridgeshire Area Health Authority, as well as all necessary licenses, Environmental Health, Fire, Health and Safety approvals.

Post-Operatively you will again be taken care of by the Surgeon. No unqualified persons are allowed to discharge patients or to give aftercare advice and instructions. Your Surgeon and Matron will do this for you.

Patient Assesment

With the patient's best interest at heart, it is the strict policy of this Hospital, that no unqualified personnel are used even for preliminary consultation; the Hospital refers all patients directly to the Surgeon himself. This doctor-patient contact is in our view, essential for accurate assessment of a patient's needs and for the achieving of best results. Surgery is very individual and unique to each patient - no two cases are the same in any way - and a detailed discussion between you and your Consulting Surgeon, is essential to enable you to make an informed decision.

Consultations

Sessions are generally held here at the Cambridge Private Hospital or in Harley Street, London. The Surgeon you meet at consultation will be the Same Surgeon who performs your treatment and oversees your care throughout.

Hospital treatment

Your well being and comfort are always our top priority at the Cambridge Private Hospital. Facilities and resources are specified to the highest standard. Our two theatres are equipped with the latest surgical and anaesthetics technology, backed up by networked information systems and closed circuit television for teaching and conference purposes.

Waiting areas, consultation rooms and accommodation for in-patients are bright, modern and comfortable, decorated and furnished by an imaginative interior designer.

Each bedroom has en suite facilities, a television and telephone, along with a call-bell system linked to nursing staff.

All treatments take place at The Cambridge Private Hospital, which is a well established, fully approved and registered hospital with safe, modern facilities. The latest proven surgical techniques are used. Your time spent in the hospital will be in comfortable and pleasant surroundings with trained, sympathetic and helpful staff to make your stay as nice as possible.
